What can After Effects do for you?

This week’s blog, now turned vlog is all about teaching you some of the basics in building text animations within After Effects. What you will learn in the video below is how using text layers, shape layers, and adjustments layers can allow you to use the tools available to create better titles, intros, text overlays and fun transitions! These principle techniques will give you the building blocks you need to build anything within After Effects.

If you are new to After Effects or a seasoned video editor who is finally getting around to learning the application, then you’re in the right place. Here is what we cover in the video:

How to use masking techniques with text and adjustment layers to create transitions and movement within your scene. We show how to use keyframes within plugins to get the most out of them. Another big topic and question many editors have is how to create the scribble write-on effect with a text layer, and we cover that!

Aside from the 3 primary layer types we use, we utilize the glow plugin, stroke, and wiggle-gelatin.
