Video is everywhere!

Chances are you’ve already seen a heap of videos today, and that’s no surprise. The majority of content shared among people on the internet is video. So, what does this mean for you as a business owner or marketing manager?

As 2019 has shown thus far, video is the answer to building a brand, reaching a wider audience and forming personal connections online. People talk about video and how important it is, but I want to show you what’s really working with video halfway through the year and how you can be effective in your content creation.

Accessibility

Creating video content has never been easier. Content is becoming more organic and the amount of video content being published each day is rising exponentially.

Video Departments

It’s becoming more common for businesses to create an In-house video team or to outsource content creation. Demand for video is here, and businesses need to be able to keep up with that demand with dedicated team members.

Social-First Video

This style of content is on the rise and is becoming one of the most effective ways to reach and engage with your audience. This consists of social media content in more of an episodic form in a conversational setting to boost audience engagement and grow a subscriber base. These are best utilized on social platforms such as LinkedIn, Youtube, Facebook and Instagram. The snack sized content is a hit and people are craving more!

Educational Video

This style of content has been around for some time and doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon. Video has become one of the most effective, fun and engaging ways to learn new skills. I learned how to play guitar over 8 years ago only from using YouTube tutorials. This revolution in how people want to learn is massive. According to Vidyard, “59% of company decision makers rank video as their preferred way to learn.” People love it and it works. Video learning is a great way to teach your audience and maintain engagement with your base.

Sales Video

In my previous blog post, “Using video in your sales outreach” I went in depth on this topic and if you want to learn more about implementing it into your business, give it a read! Connecting by video in the B2B space is crucial to humanizing your brand in the online world, that proves hard to make connections. One-to-one video messaging is becoming a core channel of communication for sales teams allowing them to taking the prospect through the entire buying journey all with video. This is organic, relatable and gives you that extra chance to be seen through a crowded inbox.
